    Second day of funerals as Iraqi families bid wedding fire victims farewell | In Pictures News

    Family and friends gathered within the Grand Immaculate Church in Hamdaniya, Iraq, to mourn those killed in a wedding hall fire on Tuesday evening.

    Burials continued on Thursday, with many victims having been buried a day earlier than, as shocked households put their family members of their last resting locations.

    Hamdaniya, often known as Qaraqosh or Bakhdida, is a Christian-majority city in Iraq’s northern governorate of Nineveh.

    The deadly blaze is alleged to have began when a firework show lit inside the marriage corridor to mark the newlywed couple’s first dance.

    The fireplace unfold in seconds, with ceiling panels falling on company as they rushed to the occasion corridor’s major entrance, attempting to get out. No less than 93 folks have been killed.

    Iraqi officers say an investigation into the hearth is beneath means, whereas state media reported that arrest warrants had been issued for the homeowners of the marriage corridor.

    Attendees of the funeral expressed their misery and frustration in the direction of native authorities.

    Extra funerals are expected after different victims are recognized.
